Five Oncology Nursing Society Members Honored as 2024 Fellows by the American Academy of Nursing
WASHINGTON, DC—Five ONS members have been inducted into the American Academy of Nursing’s (AAN’s) 2024 Class of Fellows, which this year recognizes 200 exemplary nurses who have engaged in significant activity and leadership in the profession.
“ONS extends its heartfelt congratulations to these exceptional individuals for their remarkable achievements and contributions to the oncology nursing profession and the field of cancer care,” ONS Chief Executive Officer Brenda M. Nevidjon, MSN, RN, FAAN, said. “Being inducted as an AAN fellow is a prestigious honor that acknowledges their dedication and impact on health care.”
AAN’s more than 3,000 fellows represent nursing leaders and experts in policy, research, administration, practice, and academia, all of whom have significantly contributed to improving health at local and global levels. Fellows are recognized as thought leaders who represent the diversity of the nursing profession’s policy leaders, practitioners, educators, and innovators. AAN induction is a significant milestone that allows a fellow’s colleagues—both within and outside the profession—to honor their past and current accomplishments. The 2024 fellows underwent a rigorous application process and were selected because of their contributions to advancing public health.
