Which Nonpharmacologic Intervention Is Recommended for Cancer-Related Fatigue?

September 21, 2018

The Answer

The nonpharmacologic intervention recommended for cancer-related fatigue is C. Exercise.

According to the ONS Putting Evidence Into Practice (PEP) resources for fatigue (https://www.ons.org/practice-resources/pep/fatigue), exercise is the only intervention currently recommended for practice.

The effectiveness of acupressure, meditation, and tai chi for cancer-related fatigue has not yet been established (https://www.ons.org/practice-resources/pep/fatigue).

Review the PEP resources for Fatigue (https://www.ons.org/practice-resources/pep/fatigue) for a full listing of interventions. In addition, read more about the Get Up, Get Moving campaign (https://www.ons.org/practice-resources/get-up-get-moving) for more information about recommending physical activity to your patients.
