Advances in technology are changing the world, and nowhere is that more impactful than the provision of health care. Nurses are on the forefront of patient care and understand the multitude of components involved in treating people and educating on symptom management.
According to the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), “Nursing science is poised to make significant contributions to new advances that make use of the data sciences.” Understanding this complex and ever-changing environment, NINR has launched a new microsite to better explain the new frontier of large sets of data science, also known as “big data.”
“NINR-supported science combines multiple disciplines, integrates the biological and behavioral sciences, and focuses on patient outcomes instead of disease-specific outcomes, giving the Institute a unique platform for expanding the use of data science,” the institute reported in a press release.
