To address travel restrictions from the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic while delivering important learning and resources ONS members rely on, during its March conference call the ONS Board of Directors made several decisions to host its meetings and content virtually throughout 2020.
Virtual Meeting in Lieu of ONS Congress
Following the March 11, 2020, decision to cancel the 45th Annual ONS Congress in San Antonio, TX, the ONS Board considered several options to continue to provide educational content to attendees. They decided on a virtual meeting format, spread out over three weeks in September to allow attendees to participate in tracks.
Virtual Chapter Leadership Content
The Board also decided to cancel ONS Hill Days (originally planned for June 2020) and Chapter Leadership Weekend (originally planned for July 2020). ONS will provide virtual learning and leadership content to chapters throughout the year. Virtual Business Meeting
The ONS annual business meeting is typically held during ONS Congress and marks the transition between Board of Directors’ terms. Because the terms end at Congress, the Board approved holding a virtual business meeting on April 30, 2020, to transition to the new Board term.
