June 27, 2019

The Answer

The answer is C. 5.

According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, having five or more sunburns can double an individual’s risk of developing melanoma (https://www.skincancer.org/skin-cancer-information/skin-cancer-facts#melanoma). The majority of melanoma cases are caused by exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun. Regular daily use of a SPF 15 or higher sunscreen reduces the risk of melanoma by 50%.
